We have a unique relationship with AquaAid which enables TBKS to help those less fortunate than ourselves. We purchase our hot and cold water services from Aquaid because an automatic donation is made to the Africa Trust.
Our donations are used to build wells and install Elephant Pumps to provide clean water to villages in Zimbabwe, Malawi and Liberia. The embedded photo is of children in St Columbus, Zimbabwe pumping water to supply their school.
The Elephant Pump is a modified version of an age old Chinese rope pulley system which is simple in design but nonetheless effective. Elephant Pumps are built using more readily and locally available materials. This allows for the community to more easily repair the pump should they need to which in turn extends the life of the pump exponentially.
One such pump is currently being installed in Africa on our behalf and it is a much needed source of clean and fresh drinking water for many. We are proud that our TBKS Company name is displayed on our well and we look forward to adding some photos and letters of thanks from the villagers to our site in the near future.
There are numerous ways in which having a water pump will assist a community:
To date AquAid have built over 5,000 such Elephant Pumps across parts of Zimbabwe, Malawi and Liberia; and have donated in excess of £10 million to charity.
We encourage our customers, particularly businesses to consider purchasing Aquaid water services to enable them/Aquaid to promote and continue support the Africa Trust charity with the water provision programme. TBKS are pleased and proud to be associated with and this fantastic programme helping people and communities far less fortunate than ourselves
