Brewery Square is the new heart and soul of Dorchester. A vibrant new cultural quarter in the heart of Dorset's county town. The £100million regeneration of the town’s historic brewery redefines Dorchester as a “must go” shopping and leisure destination.
Constructed in five phases TBKS fought off stiff competition to supply the stylish stainless steel hardware to the 132 apartments built during phase 2b. The Italian front door furniture as specified by Conran & Partners presents a minimal style however it was left to TBKS to specify the appropriate hinges, lock and closers.
Many meetings with the contractor Galliford Try were required to ensure every last item of ironmongery conformed to the design plan. Each piece of ironmongery was supplied in boxed “Apartment Sets” complete with an installation explanation and all the necessary fixings. The building program was very tight so we hand delivered each consignment.
Brewery Square was not a typical TBKS project and presented us with new challenges. Principally once all the ironmongery had been approved it was a case of careful administration. We procured then set aside the whole project requirement. The modular nature of the build enabled us to box up “Apartment Sets” ready for a 48hr site call off.
The supply of ironmongery to Brewery Square was a venture off our trodden path but one that has provided us with the experience and confidence to take on similar type projects
